![]() But people who don't value their time tend to not value others' time, either, and that leads to all sorts of personal issues. You don't have to make a lot of money (I don't) to value your time. I love how people will flounder about with half-arsed solutions and similar half-measures. Similarly with YouTube, it'll grab the highest quality, but I have it configured to take nothing higher than 1080 (just because that's all I can display, 4K wastes disk space). Up tp 720 is free, you have to pay (PH) for 1080 and up. Actually, the PH URL contains three quality levels, I just deleted the two lower ones and hit start. Shit, I saw a good video on PornHub and tried it, and it worked fine. And on a ton of different sites (youtube-dl is just one of its plugins). Yes, it's a frontend for youtube-dl, but it just works. I just throw the link in jdownloader2 and hit start. There are a lot of bots promoting youtube-dl, and that's fine. Youtube-dl -extract-audio -k -audio-format mp3 -audio-quality 0 ![]() ![]() But just add the -k flag to keep the video intact as well. Youtube-dl -extract-audio -audio-format mp3 -audio-quality 0 What I see and hear is exactly how it gets downloaded. But I can add a -k flag to keep video as well if I choose to do so. My is setup just to pickup audio, which is all I want. But maybe using the library in a Python script helps for a level of abstraction. HOW TO EXTRACT AUDIO FROM VIDEO USING YOUTUBE DL DOWNLOADAnd for a simple case like download a single video, the CLI way could fit on one or two lines and save having to setup a Python script of 10 or 20 lines. So what you see and hear can be downloaded by youtube-dl using the URL to the source itself. The CLI options look comprehensive so Id guess the features are the same. I go to the source, exactly what you want. I never used the youtube-dl search if this is what I'm looking at. What site are you trying to do this from?
